This is an original triptych painting.Painted in 2008, It is signed and dated on the back, and painted on all sides. It’s ready to hang, with or without a frame. The medium is repurposed acrylic latex paint on canvas. Repurposed acrylic latex is house paint that would otherwise go to waste, and that I rescue from reject shelves before it is sent to landfills.
Camellias was influenced by the camellia flowers that bloom in my backyard in the winter, in the midst of our rainy season. They remind me that spring is near. The painting uses my poured technique, of pouring paint onto the canvas in layers to create the central motif. The bright green and dark green are the colors of the new and old growth of the plants, and the pinks, magenta and peach are the colors of the blossoms.
