This is an original painting. Painted in 2010, it is signed and dated on the back, and painted on all sides. It is ready to hang, with or without a frame. The medium is repurposed acrylic latex paint on canvas. Repurposed acrylic latex is house paint that would otherwise go to waste, and that I rescue from reject shelves before it is sent to landfills.
The colors in Flight of Icarus are vivid -- bright apple green, deep red, very dark purple, orange, robin's egg blue, and yellow. It is an abstract rendering of flight -- the ascension and descension of Icarus. Looks great paired with Rooted, as a diptych.
