This is an original painting. Painted in 2009, it is signed and dated on the back, and painted on all sides. It is ready to hang, with or without a frame. The medium is repurposed acrylic latex paint on canvas. Repurposed acrylic latex is house paint that would otherwise go to waste, and that I rescue from reject shelves before it is sent to landfills.
The soft greens, pinks, yellow, rust and burgundy remind me of the spray coming off of waves at the beach.Sprindrift is a pulled painting – a technique where I pull the paint across a textured canvas with a squeegee, revealing other colors underneath. This gives the piece complexity and depth.
