Meteor Storm depicts one long meteor shower, similar to what I had seen one late summer evening - on the north shore of Lake Superior.
The Meteor Sculpture is inspired from my love of looking at the night sky. One night I looked up into the sky and saw hundreds of stars falling in clusters. It was truly a once in a life-time spectacle that remains etched in my mind.
To capture the essence of what I saw that night, recycled steel scraps and nails were welded and braised into hundreds of energy shapes - which gives the piece a celestial feeling in movement and form.
