This is an original painting. Painted in 2010, It is signed and dated on the back, and painted on all sides. It is ready to hang, with or without a frame. The medium is repurposed acrylic latex paint on canvas. Repurposed acrylic latex is house paint that would otherwise go to waste, and that I rescue from reject shelves before it is sent to landfills.
Rooted is a pressed painting, where I paint on plastic, then press the canvas onto the wet paint to pick up the design. The lively colors and downward movement are representative of our connectedness to the Earth. Looks great paired with Flight of Icarus, as a diptych.
