Rovi Cabinet is a very minimal and elegant aluminum cabinet. Branches weave through the cabinet's structure - in doing so become one with it. But Rovi's has thorns -making the handles seem almost inaccessible. This playfully reverses our relationship with a piece of fine furniture. You are at risk ... rather than having to be careful of how you handle or open a more delicate piece of furniture. The unit is constructed of black pigmented high density MDF (organic pigments are mixed with the wood fibers before the board is pressed to make it 100% colored - certified to Forest Stewardship Council's UK (FSC) standards). The black board has then been faced with 3mm aluminum sheet. The doors of the unit are mitred so that they seamlessly fit. The original handles branches were hand-carved by Andrea from Sycamore, with Holy Wood thorns. These were then used to construct two part silicon molds from which the handles have been cast using a black polyester resin. The hand casting of these gives them an almost vintage feel. Doors are hinged using 3 strong 45 degree mitre hinges. This piece of furniture is made to last - the aim is that it becomes an antic of the future.

Andrea Felice offers creative furniture solutions. Creating contemporary bespoke and limited edition sculptural furniture, handcrafted to the highest standard. All work is conducted in our Deptford, London studio. We service a range of clients from private commissions & retailers through to architects and interior designers. Andrea originates from the village of Montegnacco, Fruili in north-east Italy (near Udine). Andrea’s Grandfather Riccardo Felice, was a multi award winning baroque master carver. And his father Enzo Felice a formidable furniture maker and former professor of cabinet making. Andrea originally set off in a different direction and trained as an industrial designer. But, with woodworking so ingrained in him Andrea turned back to his heritage in the early 90s, first solely carving and then furniture making. Relocating to London in 1997 Andrea went to work for some of the best furniture makers in town.
