A Massachusetts barn from the late 1700s, that once upon a time sheltered calf’s and feed, was dismantled after falling into disrepair. Several pine beams was milled and planed to reveal beautiful grain and large knots. Every effort was made to preserve the hand hewn markings on the exterior of these beams. Our designs strive to accentuate the historical markings left from it's previous construction, from the adz or ax markings on the table top edges and legs to the wooden pegs embedded in the table top. Other details include vertical grain bread boards on the short ends of the table and solid, traditional mortise and tenon joinery. This original crafted piece has been sanded down to a 300 grit smooth finish. A Bees Wax finish for the table top is optional.

Barns and outbuildings are important icons of country life in New England. When there is no longer hope in preserving a structure, salvaging allows the materials to live on in new form. We are a two man team that dismantle these structures piece by piece without the use of heavy machinery. We are able to salvage all usable pieces and preserve the distinctive character markings left on these old growth wood.
