Being twice the size of a normal chair, it is made out of solid British Oak and steam bent into shape. These huge pieces of solid oak, manipulated and formed into a robust and imposing chair give a childlike sense of Alice in Wonderland regardless of the users age. And for the smaller clients the chair can be ordered with a step to aid their ascent into The Throne. The Giant Chair can be enjoyed indoors or out. The Original Chair was built for a 15th century English Manor House.

Tom grew up in the extreme wilderness, tranquillity and natural beauty of Exmoor. This environment stimulated his imagination and gave him the freedom to be adventurous with his designs.Tom’s fascination with steam bending began whilst studying at Falmouth College of Arts and the vision for many of Tom’s designs came from his primary interest in structural materials, sustainable wood and its changeable states. Years of research and experimentation allowed Tom to develop a new look.
